Gorman Lake

Gorman Lake is a very popular day hike.

The alpine scenery is breathtaking and backcountry camping sites are located near the lake.



The lake is excellent for fly fishing and you may even see marmots, pikas or a mountain goat climbing the rocky cliffs.
  • Follow the signs to the Golden golf course.
  • Take a left on the forestry road.
  • Drive approximately 14 km.
  • Cross the creek (bridge was recently removed), until you get to the trail head.
  • The hike in takes approximately 90 minutes.
